Style Inspiration: Kirstin Dunst

I’ve always loved Kirstin Dunst style.

Remember the Hollywood “It” girls phenomenon? While Paris, Lindsay, and Nicole were flashing their season’s must-haves, Kirstin went under the radar with her cool chic style.

Her effortless chic look is modern yet timeless. I so love it!

Note to self: Buy a Lanvin-esque bowtie

Na-achieve ko na ‘to!

Kirstin is the only gal I know who can rock the hoop earrings without looking ghetto. Haha!

Love the over-the-shoulder-blazer paired with LBD. Check out her ponkan lipchook!

Tee + Skirt + Pumps = Effortless chic

Red lips lang ang accessory!

Peg!!! Haircut, check. Rockin’ body…working on it.

Who needs accessories when you’ve got a hot boyfriend!

Peg for Summer

If you’re like me who’s not into girly-girl clothes, here are some ideas on how to inject summer’s soft hues trend into your wardrobe:

Fashion Philes:

Yellow is a happy color, but if you don’t want to wear a bright-hued dress or maxi, try a yellow blazer with brocade pants and an all the way buttoned-up shirt. I love this look on Kirstin Dunst!

Take cue from Philip Lim’s layering of sorbet colors. The key is to wear tissue-like fabrics in desaturated colors.

Tip: Use neutral-colored accessories like black or white clutch and nude-colored shoes.

Bar Hopping

Life for me is all about balance — balancing family, fashion, and friends that is.

I’m glad I went out last night with my friends. It was nice to catch up with everyone, especially Robby. Todo lang kami sa words of wisdom, the “Law of Attraction”, and my word of the year: “Achieve”! Alamonayon! I had a blast!

I’d like to thank the fun crew: Tim Yap, Marc Gueco, Trish Panlilio, Rixbu, Charina Sarte and Robby Carmona for a fun and fab night. You guys are the best!

Legs kung legs! Haha! From left: designer Charina, me , and Papillo Fine Stationer’s Trishy

Can I just say, Charina’s outfitey is the bomb! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Trishy naman has the best legs in Philippines!

Because limited edition na lang ang appearance ko, the goal was ubusan ng bar last night! Haha!

First stop was Buddha Bar. From Paris to Pinas, this world-famous restaurant/bar finally has a branch in Manila.

I love the ambiance and the luxurious interior of Buddah Bar. The menu is based on Pacific Rim cooking — a style which mixes East and West culinary methods. They serve French, Thai, Filipino, Japanese, Chinese, and more.

Love, love, love this place! I’m going back next week!

Valet parking is also available. Yay!

*Buddah Bar is located at Picar Place, Kalayaan Ave. Makati. Phone number s(+632) 856.6719, (+632) 856.6859.

Next stop was Skye Lounge. A rooftop bar with AstroTurf flooring, stylish couches and tables and the biggest ceiling fan you’ll ever see!

This is the season to visit this place as the weather has been cool lately. I suggest that you take advantage of the view and go at dawn for an apéritif and tapas.

Although, I think I’ll only go back to this place if my friend Pauline Juan goes with me and secures a table for us. Last night was super packed and I spent half an hour trying to get a drink while standing up in six-inch heels! Aray.

*Skye Lounge Roof Deck, W Building 11th Street corner 28th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Tel. No. 565.2009

After I developed arthritis at Skye (choz!), it was time to go to Privé Club or as my friends and I call it “JM’s bar”. Haha!

Friday night is the best night to go to this club. Last night was poppin’! I danced like there was no tomorrow. Dance, kitty dance lang ang peg!

*Privé Luxury Club, Unit C, The Fort Strip (Fort Entertainment Complex), The Fort, BGC, Taguig.

It’s an exciting time for the nightlife scene as there are several bars/lounge/restaurants that recently opened in the metro.

It’s time to put on your “Cha Cha heels” and paint the town pink!

Hermès Cape Cod Double Tour watch

I love the double strap of this watch!

I blame Gwyneth Paltrow for my Hermès Cape Cod Double Tour watch obsession!

It’s a cool watch that I can use for both casual and formal (when I wear my tux) affairs.

KARL Collection collars

Tell me if this isn’t me!

Shopingero/shopingera, what’s your fashion wishlist?

Family + Fashion: Lala and Danica

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ICA!!! You share the same birthday as my son Dylan!

I have a soft spot for mom and daughter tandem Lala Flores and Danica “Ica” Flores Magpantay. Being a mom too, I know how wonderful it is to have a healthy relationship with a loving daughter.

I recently worked with Lala and Ica — I styled the supermodel for Tattoo@Home print ad and Lala was her daughter’s makeup artist. It was beautiful watching the two work together at a professional level yet so personal. So funny that Lala tried her hardest not to be a doting mom, but she had her moments — Lala: "Parang mas maganda sis kung tanggalin yung vest para kita yung silhouette ni Ica." Hahaha!

Lala and I had a chance to catch up with each other during work and there were several times when we were both teary-eyed… crying while talking about the challenges we face as mothers and how grateful we both are for having such amazing and loving children. God is good.

Again, happy birthday, Ica! May all your dreams come true!
